Folks,

We are blown away by the love and support you’ve shown Mark One. Yesterday was our single biggest day of funding ever on Kickstarter, across all of our past projects, and we reached our funding goal within the first two hours. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We just released a podcast episode we recorded today with our friend Myke Hurley, chatting all about the campaign and pen. We hope you find it interesting, and if you don’t already subscribe to our podcast, do consider it, we are definitely going to be talking more about the process of making Mark One as production ramps up.

We also wanted to address a few comments and questions we’ve been seeing:

  • Clip vs No Clip. We chat about this a bit in the podcast. It was something we definitely considered, but at the end of the day we couldn’t come up with a solution we were satisfied with, that didn’t cause some other problem. In the end, the stark minimal design felt better served without a clip, and a clipless design is our personal preference. In terms of rolling, we haven’t found that to be much of an issue, likely due to the weight and matte exterior coating, but your mileage may vary. All that said, we are going to take a look at a clip option, but it’s not likely going to happen for this campaign.
  • Black + Copper option. The mechanisms are interchangeable, so there is nothing stopping pairing the black body with the copper knock. You could do this yourself if you had one of each pen color. We wanted to keep the tiers and options as simple as possible, to keep order fulfillment smoother and minimize potential errors, but if there is a huge demand we will definitely consider officially offering that combination (same goes for white + silver).
  • Adding more pens or Panobooks to your pledge. Once the campaign is over and we send out the backer surveys, you will be able to add more items to your order, at the same Kickstarter prices we are offering here. So go ahead and choose one of the available tiers, and you can add to it later.

Again, thanks so much for your support, it means the world to us! Please share this campaign with anyone you know who might be interested in a really nice pen!

Until next time,
Tom & Dan
